"A true teacher does not teach you; she does not see you as inherently separate from her, or less than her.
She simply reflects back your own inner knowing, and reminds you of the vastness of your being.
She is a mirror, a signpost.
And love is the space in which all of this is possible; (...)." ~ Jeff Foster

"If you touch one thing with pure awareness, you touch everything”
Thich Nath Hanh
This is Selina’s life motto - so whether we are standing in line at a supermarket queue, teaching a class, cooking or attending to our own needs, we need to be aware that all is connected and that in this web of life as we know it, everything is divine, everything is all. We are never not connected.
Selina Gullery, B.A. in Modern Languages from Trinity College Dublin; E-RYT 500; YACEP, is an internationally renown yoga teacher, teacher trainer and intuitive chef. Of Irish origin, she spent most of her life living abroad, in Germany, on the West coast of Spain, in England and presently in the foothills of Vitosha Mountain, Sofia, Bulgaria.
From a very young age, she has been on the quest for the deeper meaning of life and her place within it. This led her, in her young years, to continuously explore life at the edge. When she went to her first yoga class in her early twenties, she experienced a deep connection and love she couldn’t explain. It wasn’t until 10 years later, after numerous escapades into other worlds, that she commenced a regular yoga practice and instilled this quest into her own body and mind.
She spent 10 years studying and travelling extensively with Swami Samarpanananda, a yogi from the Himalayas. Was blessed to spend years training with Shiva Rea and assisting Twee Merrigan in the Prana Vinyasa style of yoga, which opened a new approach to the yoga tradition, more rooted in the feminine. She studied alignment with Barbra Noh Anusara (100h) and has explored and trained in numerous other Yoga styles, meditation practices and somatic movement schools (see below).
More recently, she commenced a voyage of rediscovery of the poets, philosophers and myths of her own country, Ireland. It is here she found herself enraptured in a yoga of homecoming. She is a Senior Teacher at the Celtic School of Yoga and co-leads annual retreats with the founder, folklorist, archaeologist and musician Jack Harrison.
In her Teacher Trainings, in classes and on retreat, she encourages the growth of the spiritual and individual self in her students, through cultivating self-love, embracing imperfections and residing in the gentle strength of the higher Self.
She is happy to be a regular guest teacher at the following festivals:
Chamonix Yoga festival, France
Geneva Yoga Festival, Switzerland
Aix en Provence Yoga Festival, France
Udaya Live Festival, Bulgaria
Bali Spirit Festival, Indonesia
Boom Festival, Portugal
Cologne Yoga Festival (assistant), Germany
Avoriaz Yoga Festival, France

"Every yoga practice should flow like a good story, with a beginning, a middle, and an end that takes the class to a new and different awareness, experience, or ability." (Maty Ezraty)
