Self-Care Tips #01

​It is very empowering to cultivate rituals of self-care. By nurturing ourselves with a rhythm of feel-good activities, we are able to boost our immune system, boost our mood and lastly increase our resilience, making it easier to remain calm and focused and act from a place of centredness.
Here a list of things I do every day, which you might want to try out, too. Let me know, if you notice a difference in how you feel in general...

1) Fill the first moments of your day with gratitude
  • upon waking and while you are still in bed, you may want to place one hand on your heart and the other on your belly and say something to the likes of:
  • “Thank you! Thank you for this new day. Thank you for my body. Thank you for my breath. Thank you.”
  • Get up placing both feet on the ground simultaneously, “Thank you for the ground beneath my feet”.
2) Personal hygiene.
  • take a table spoon of organic sesame oil and draw the oil through your teeth, to remove bacteria and strengthen the gums
  • spit out the oil and gargle with salt water (gargling harmonises our autonomous nervous system, salt disinfects the throat)
  • dry brush your body to remove toxins and dry skin
  • take a warm and cold shower (cold showers also regulate the nervous system)
  • oil your body with your favourite oil
  • have a large mug of lukewarm water
